The Maypole happily captures the joys of an English spring and summer, expressed in this classic sparkling blend, with 5 years on lees giving ribbons of bubbles that dance in the glass in this frothily festive fizz. It is layered, gently mature yet still fresh. Lots of crisp apple and pear fruit characters on the palate with a fine, persistent mousse. There’s a long finish which shows some biscuity development along with characteristic, balanced acidity.
